The Needs: STEM initiatives with a focus on coding is why the Intercultural Development Research Association (IDRA) launched a project to prepare other teachers on delivering tailored courses within a project-based learning environment. We wanted to teach students how to create educational video games.
The Solutions: I partnered with IDRA to create a learning path for the project that features 118 interactive lessons and over 970 pieces of content housed within Schoology LMS.
The Results: A pilot of the course ran in four schools, where students achieved notable success in developing educational video games. The program is now set to expand to 12 middle schools in Bexar County by 2024-2025, reaching over 1,400 students as interest continues to grow.
